Aurélien Comte enjoyed a strong showing during the latest event of the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour at Vila Real. In his SP Compétition CUPRA, the French driver just missed the podium in both races but scored strong points after his well-deserved victory at Monza.
Comte is now just one point behind reigning champion Norbert Michelisz in the standings at the halfway point of the season.
“I'm very satisfied with the Portuguese weekend,” said Comte. “We scored good points, and that was our goal coming here. The start of the weekend was a bit difficult because I have very little experience with street circuits. I thank the entire team for providing me with a car that I felt confident in and that allowed me to progress. The car worked very well, and we didn't encounter any problems. That circuit is magical as it exudes both joy and fear. I thank the organisation and the fans, who were incredible!”
