The current TCR South America points leader, Leonel Pernía will race this weekend in the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour event at Monza.
The Argentine driver will be at the wheel of a Honda Civic FL5 run by ALM Motorsport, joining the young Estonian Ruben Volt who has just claimed his and the team’s first World Tour podium, Sunday at Valencia.
Pernía had made his first appearance in the World Tour last year at Interlagos, but the event in Monza has a special taste because marks his return to Monza after 15 years, when he took part in the 2010 FIA WTCC event with Chevrolet.
“I wish to thank all the people who made this possible: Squadra Martino, TCR South America and WSC. I feel proud, because they have worked together to give me the opportunity to race in the World Tour. I feel the pressure, but my goal is still the same: to fight for the win!” said Pernía.
