In today's races, Michel Jourdain jr. played the local hero and battled with no awe against the World Tour regulars.
He finished eighth in Race 1 and seventh in Race 2, the best of the Mexican drivers.
“I’m very happy. In the races it was a little frustrating as the others were pulling away, but I feel proud of the Peralta Racing Team for giving me the opportunity to drive. We’ve improved a lot during the weekend; through every session and race we were getting better and better.
I raced in WTCC 18 years ago, so I knew how hard it was going to be this weekend. I’ve only done two endurance races, and on Thursday it was the first time I tried this tyre. We missed the shakedown because of a mechanical issue, so we were always catching up. It’s fantastic to be able to race with the World Tour guys, who represent the top level in the Touring Car racing.”
