There's no rest for the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour and TCR Asia competitors, as the circus has already moved to the next stop.
Immediately after the end of the second race day at Chengdu Tianfu International Circuit, cars and parts have been uploaded on containers for being trucked for 2000 kilometres to the Zhejiang Shaoxing Circuit that hosts the World Tour’s rounds 16, 17 and 18 this weekend.
Focus will be on Geely Cyan Racing's Santiago Urrutia who has performed at his best in Chengdu, winning two races out of three and adding a third place. The Uruguayan driver has managed to reduce the gap to the points leader Mikel Azcona of BRC N Hyundai Squadra Corse to just 23 points and squeezed into P2 of the standings ahead of Azcona's teammate Norbert Michelisz.
Both teams will concentrate their efforts in helping their respective leaders to score as many points as possible before the season finale in Macau.
The third party, SP Compétition with its pair of CUPRA Leon VZ cars will sit on the fence, ready to take advantage of the situation on the wave of their success in Chengdu’s Race 2, when Aurélien Comte and Jean-Karl Vernay signed an historical 1-2 for the French squad.
In the Team's Championship, Geely Cyan Racing leads on 775 points, only 74 ahead of BRC.
