Yann Ehrlacher, 1st: “It was quite a nice weekend for us, it is the first time we’ve had a weekend with no bad luck. I was happy with the pace and all the work the guys have done, as it was really hot, so it has taken a bit to put everything together. I think Valencia is a nice touring car track; it’s quite challenging for us drivers to put together a good lap and the high temperature didn’t make things very easy either. It was quite challenging and hopefully we’ll come back here in the future.”
Santiago Urrutia, 2nd: “It has been very good. Congratulations to Cyan, we had a strong weekend, with Yann’s two wins, and my two podiums and a pole position. Strong points for the championship both for the drivers and the team, which is the main thing. I didn’t expect to be this quick this weekend. I was surprised first with the pole position and then I just did my weekend and tried to avoid contact. I’ve had so many DNFs in the past, so this year I plan to just finish whatever position I can take. So far so good, it’s only six races, and now we go to Monza, a track I really like.”
Néstor Girolami, 3rd: “Congratulations to all the mechanics and engineers. They deserve this podium much more than anyone, as the amount of effort they dedicate over the weekend is incredible. For us it was a positive weekend, after qualifying we saw where we are, especially compared to the blue cars, so we had to work harder to improve. Race 2 was OK, but in Race 3 it was just impossible to compete. We had zero kilos against cars with 30 kilos, so it’s clear they have a better car at the moment. We have to keep pushing.”
