Néstor Girolami - winner
“It was all about the start. I had to take the risk. Esteban (Guerrieri) respected me well and that opened the race for me. I used the first five or six laps to build a gap, then just managed the tyres because it was very demanding. The car felt fantastic this weekend. At the beginning of the year, we struggled a lot. Mexico was terrible, Vila Real too. We are still quite behind in the championship, but the main goal now is to take it race by race. Korea is very important for us. Today was much hotter than yesterday, at least 10° more, that’s why lap times were slower than Saturday.”
Esteban Guerrieri – P2
“It was very good! Congratulations to ‘Bebu’ and the guys here. A great finish to the weekend in Australia. It’s a pleasure to be here, the fans have been fantastic. From a team perspective, a double podium is huge, we are very happy with that. Hyundai were the quickest cars this weekend, but they will take weight into Korea. It’s their home track, so let’s see how that plays out. For us, the target is to keep scoring and hopefully arrive in Macau with a chance at the title.”
Ignacio Montenegro – P3
“I’m quite happy, it was a fantastic result for me and the team. The start was tough but after that it was nice racing. Being on the podium again means a lot. I’ve been working a lot on my mindset over the summer, how to really focus on racing. It looks like it’s paying off.”
