After having received a five-second penalty for an incident with Esteban Guerrieri in Race 2, Santiago Urrutia was eventually excluded from the same race for switching on manually the Anti-Lag System when then engine was running in breach of Article 6.4 of the 2024 FIA TCR World Tour Technical Regulations.
This further penalty favoured the current championship leader Norbert Michelisz, who was promoted from fifth to fourth and scored two more points.
As a result, the Hungarian’s lead in the standings is extended to 25 points over Guerrieri, while Michelisz’s teammate Mikel Azcona is now equal on points with Yann Ehrlacher, 43 points behind.
