The second half of the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour's season begins this weekend on the 4.95km International Circuit of the Shell V-Power Motorsport Park at The Bend, located in Tailem Bend, approximately 100 km south-east of Adelaide, South Australia.
The event was due to be run in the same format as the first two of the season in Mexico and Spain, with three races - two on Saturday and one on Sunday.
However, eventually the timetable had to be adjusted due to the late delivery of the containers to the racetrack, which has forced to restrict track activities to two days and cancel one of the three races.
After the three latest events in Europe, at Valencia, Monza and Vila Real, Yann Ehrlacher has taken the lead in the standings. At the wheel of his Cyan Racing-run Lynk & Co 03 FL the French driver has won three races, finishing on the podium four further times and scoring 250 points. His first competitor, Esteban Guerrieri in a GOAT Racing Honda Civic FL5, is currently 27 points adrift.
The Argentine is followed by Ehrlacher's three teammates: Thed Björk, Santiago Urrutia and Ma Qing Hua who have gaps of 35, 43 and 101 points respectively. The first of the BRC Hyundai N Squadra Corse drivers, last year's champion Norbert Michelisz is placed sixth, one points behind Ma and one ahead of SP Compétition's Aurélien Comte and his CUPRA Leon VZ. Néstor Girolami of BRC and Ignacio Montenegro of GOAT Racing are eighth and ninth, 105 and 106 points off the leader.
In the Teams' championship Lynk & Co Cyan Racing has already built a 177-point healthy lead over GOAT Racing.
