Lynk & Co Cyan Racing’s Thed Björk posted the fastest time of the day at Inje Speedium when he topped the timesheet of the second Free Practice session with a lap of 1:40.906.
The best lap in the first session had been posted by Junui Park in his Solite Indigo Racing Hyundai Elantra.
Practice 1 – Ten minutes into the session, Junui Park set the fastest lap of 1:41.062, demoting Mikel Azcona (1:41.486) to second. Junesung Park (1:41.575) and Josh Buchan (1:41.821) completed a Hyundai Elantra quartet on top of the timesheet.
They were followed by the points leader Yann Ehrlacher and Dušan Borković both with the same time of 1:42.078.
The session was disrupted after twelve minutes, when Choi Jeong Weon’s Hyundai stopped at T7 with an engine issue and resumed after three minutes. Despite he had only completed three laps, Choi was fastest in TCR Asia, 11th overall.
Practice 2 – Under a threat of rain, the session was declared wet, but the tarmac was dry. Junesung and Junui Park topped the timesheet in the early stages until Josh Buchan posted a 1:41.100 with twelve minutes left in the clock. Six minutes later it was Thed Björk who broke the 1:41 barrier clocking a 1:40.906 that was not to be beaten. Santiago Urrutia (1:41.359), Esteban Guerrieri (1:41.618), Mikel Azcona (1:41.688) and Ehrlacher (1:41.702) filled the spots from three to six. Diego Moran was the best in TCR Asia, in 14th position.
Next action will be Qualifying, tomorrow at 10:00am local (3:00am CEST).
