Santiago Urrutia was the fastest of the Geely Cyan Racing drivers in both of the practice sessions at Misano, fourth fastest in Free Practice 1 just two-tenths away from the leading Hyundai of Mikel Azcona but fell to nearer half a second back and eighth in the final practice session.
The Uruguayan wasn’t too downbeat after the two sessions, and says the target is to get the cars into the top ten in qualifying tomorrow morning.
“There’s a lot of things to do with a new car, and every time you go on track you see things to improve and change,” he said. “In FP1 I was surprised. We were not where we wanted to be in FP2, so we need to focus for qualifying. There were some small technical issues which is normal when you have a new car. Overall, I think it was OK. I was inside the top ten in both sessions, that is also the main goal for Q2 tomorrow.”
