Viktor Andersson will make his Kumho FIA TCR World Tour return for the season opener at Misano, driving a CUPRA Leon VZ for reigning TCR Europe champions Monlau Motorsport.
The 22-year-old Swede has made regular appearances as a wild card entry since 2023 and this year he is also racing with the same team and car in both the TCR Europe and TCR Spain series.
The current points leader in the Spanish series, Andersson will be looking to make a good impression, racing against the world’s top drivers at the Italian circuit, where he qualified just a few tenths away from the pole in last year’s TCR Europe event.
“It will be amazing to be back on the grid again,” said Andersson. “The competition will be super-high which is a really good benchmark and for us to both understand and learn against the highest level. Misano is a track I enjoyed last year, though hopefully it will be a few degrees lower than when I was there in TCR Europe. I also hope the CUPRA suits the circuit, I have a few events under my belt with it already, and the car and I are getting to know each other quite well.”
