World Tour debut for Gilles Chauvin and Victor Weyrich
A pair of French drivers face their debut in the Kumho FIA TCR World Tour in this weekend’s event at Circuit Paul Ricard: Gilles Chauvin and Victor Weyrich, both driving CUPRA Leon VZ cars.
Chauvin uses to race for SP Compétition in the FFSA TC France series in which he was classified third last year with a race win at Magny-Cours. He is placed fifth in the current season, having finished three times on the podium.
The 27-year-old Weyrich has competed in Porsche Cup and GT4, and last year was second in the Alpine Elf Cup. He has started his maiden touring car season with Herrero Racing in TCR Europe, scoring his first points two weeks ago at Le Castellet with a fourth in Race 1.
